This week we welcomed 939 visitors to King James for our annual Year 6 Open Evening. Following an introduction from our Headteacher, Mr Whitehead, visitors enjoyed a tour around the school to see facilities and take part in a range of organised activities.

Local families were able to enjoy a Cluedini-style activity in Drama and youngsters visited our green screen room to take part in a Media film making session. There were puzzles to solve in Geography, History, Maths and Business, and opportunities to get involved in Science experiments, music-making, art and sport. Pupils also enjoyed taste testing in Food & Nutrition and fun activities in our Languages, English and RE departments. They also visited our Academy Library, sampled food from our lunchtime menu and heard about the wide range of extra-curricular activities and out of classroom learning experiences we offer.

As Year 6 pupils made their way around the Academy visiting different departments, they were able to collect stamps on a special prize draw card, which they submitted at the end of the night. The winner, who will soon be drawn at random, will receive a top of the range tablet!
