A Night at The Prom

June 2026

In July, over 160 Year 11 students and King James staff enjoyed a glittering Prom Night at Hallgarth Hotel.

With a hot buffet meal, student awards ceremony and dancing until 11.00pm, the event was the perfect way to celebrate achievement and to reminisce about happy times at King James. Students arrived in style and turned out evening dresses, ball gowns and suits in every colour.

Adam Plews and Millie Waites were crowned Prom King and Queen, and other accolades went to Kaylem Harbottle, Master of Chaos; Lennon Burrell, Future Rock & Roll Star, Alex Ferguson, Most Likely to be Prime Minister and Jaycob Baines, Most Likely to Make a Million. Other awards included TikTok Sensation, Biggest Party Animal, Most Stylish, Biggest Diva, Kindest Soul and Most Likely to be Late for Work!

Although many of those who attended the Prom will be returning to our Sixth Form, others have left King James for work, apprenticeships or to study specialist courses at college. It has been a privilege to watch our students grow into amazing young adults, and we wish them the best of luck for a bright future.
