March 2012

Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 recently enjoyed a "Sportsability' taster session courtesy of Durham County Leisure's Sportsability team, who provide fun activities for adults and young people with a disability.

Our students were introduced to Boccia, New Age Kurling and Seated Volleyball, which all proved extremely popular. These activities and others such as Tri-golf, Kwik-Cricket, Short Tennis, Fencing, Dance and Trampoline, will all be available at a brand new Sportsability Club, which will be held at King James. The club will run for a trial period on Thursdays from 4.00pm-5.00pm, for all young people from 5-19 years old with a disability and, if successful, it will become permanent.
